ONE DAY - fish & shellfish still life - build your confidence in Oils.

If you have been on my Introduction course or have some previous experience, be it limited, that is great however not essential. This one day course will focus on painting fish and shellfish such as; mackerel, lobster, crab, mussels or prawns. The course is held in a light, airy space that is ideal for painting and learning. Basic materials, including all paint and primed boards, easels & brushes are provided for, all you need to bring is an apron!
A simple but tasty lunch of soup/salad, cheese, fruit & cake (gluten & dairy free options) is also included in the day, along with teas and coffee.

TWO DAY - INTRODUCTION TO STILL LIFE IN OILS
Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th October 2024
This two day course is a beginners introduction to still life using oils, no painting experience is required just an open mind! The course is held in a light, airy space that is ideal for painting and learning. Basic materials, including all paint and primed boards, easels & brushes are provided for, all you need to bring is an apron!
You will learn how to start out in oils, how to translate with paint what you can see. We will use fruit & vessels as our starting point and learn how to observe so that we can feel confident about painting simple tonal compositions with expressive brush strokes and a vibrant colour palette. You will gain an understanding of how colour works and the sheer joy of mixing colours.
A simple but tasty lunch of soup/salad, cheese, fruit & cake (gluten & dairy free options) is also included on both days, along with teas and coffee.

Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th NOVEMBER 2024
If you have been on my Introduction course or have some previous experience, be it limited, that is great however not essential. This course will be two days of painting with oils, developing your current skill level and building up your confidence. Concentrating on fish and shellfish such as, mackerel, crab, lobster, mussels & prawns also including lemons and plates and cloth in our still life compositions. We will learn how to create strong compositions, mixing beautiful colours and exploring light and movement encouraging you to paint expressively.
The course is held in a light, airy space that is ideal for painting and learning. Basic materials, including all paint and primed boards, easels & brushes are provided for, all you need to bring is an apron!

ONE DAY - PLEIN AIR & STILL LIFE IN OILS
SATURDAY 13th JULY
SATURDAY 14th SEPTEMBER
The course will be held at Tokes Farm, near Shaftesbury. A beautiful and abundant farm ideal for learning to paint outdoors. You will spend the morning out on the land learning to paint far reaching views expressively, recording fleeting information as quickly as you can, as the colours change in front you and your painting changes with them. In the afternoon you will have the opportunity to paint still life of flowers or vegetables from the market garden.
All materials, including all paint and primed boards, easels & brushes are included. A simple but tasty lunch, fruit and tea & coffee is also included in the price.
The things YOU need to bring are a sun hat/cap, suncream, water bottle and an apron.
